Heart Spark Cohort Week One

Week One marks the true beginning of each intern’s research immersion. Structured asynchronously to accommodate rolling start dates, this week is designed to establish a grounded and purposeful entry into the Heart Spark Cohort. Interns begin orienting themselves to the program’s culture, expectations, and tools for growth. You are guided through: Orientation and Access Interns receive essential access to research environments, digital platforms, and guidance on navigating the internship structure and weekly rhythm. Welcome Track and Reflection The Welcome Track reinforces the culture of mentorship, inquiry, and integrity. Interns also complete an opening reflection to articulate your purpose, curiosity, and goals for the internship. Community Threads and Research Readiness Interns introduce themselves in cohort discussion spaces and begin exploring how to ask strong research questions by reviewing prior studies and identifying knowledge gaps. Tracking Tools Interns are introduced to tools like the Submission Tracker and Feedback Log, helping them stay organized and responsive throughout your projects. Week One is not simply an introduction. It is a deliberate step into a community of learning and leadership—where each intern begins shaping your unique contribution to research and change.
