Hello

Welcome.

You are entering a space shaped by wonder and inquiry—
Where knowledge does not begin with answers,
But with deeper questions.

Pause now. Breathe.

Gaze not just forward, but inward.
This is not merely the launch of a research project.
This is the opening of a path led by purpose.

Here, you are not expected to have it all figured out.
You are invited to dwell in the unknown,
To let uncertainty become a companion to discovery.

Let the stillness be your scholar's silence.
Let curiosity rise in you—not to rush ahead,
But to recognize where you truly are.

This is a space for reflection, rigor, and resilience.
For learning how to listen to data,
And how to question the world with care.

This is research for the future physician—
Not rushed, not rehearsed, but real.

This is not merely the start of a research project.
It is the opening of a scholarly and personal transformation.
Here, you will gain not only tools for inquiry,

But preparation for the next stage of your calling.

From your first research question to your final personal statement,

From the literature you explore to the interviews you one day face—

This space is shaped to meet you in the complexity of becoming.

I am Dr. Sherry-Ann Brown, world renowned Physician Scientist and Founder of the Future Physician Research Scholars Prep Program at My Heart Opulence LLC, administratively managed by Preventive Cardio-Oncology LLC.

Welcome to a journey of depth, direction, and distinction.

There will be several things coming your way.

If you ever see something listed that you don't have yet, it means it is still being prepared for you.

Welcome!

STRUCTURED ASYNCHRONOUS MESSAGE EXCHANGE – FORMAT (Available only with Tier 3)

Definition: A guided back-and-forth via text-based platform (e.g., Notion comments, email thread, or LMS messaging) designed to replace a live conversation.

Structure:

  1. Prompted Template – Student begins by submitting a response to specific structured prompts (e.g., “What is your research topic? What are your challenges so far?”)

  2. Mentor Responds – Mentor reviews and sends a message with suggestions, links, and action steps

  3. Student Follows Up – Student can reply once with clarifying questions

  4. Mentor Closes Thread – Final reply to wrap and redirect to next task

Typically spans 3–5 messages total, completed over 3–5 business days.

Q&A SUPPORT

  • Response by Program Intern or trained student liaison

  • Designed to reduce wait time

  • Archive is viewable by all Tier 3 program participants

  • Moderated monthly for clarity and learning quality

ENDNOTE  (Available only with Tier 3)

EndNote is a professional reference management tool used in academic publishing. It enables:

  • Centralized citation libraries

  • Integration with Word for automated citation formatting

  • Sorting, tagging, and organizing large numbers of articles

  • Compatibility with systematic reviews and institutional workflows

Why EndNote over Zotero or Mendeley?

  • Zotero is excellent for entry-level citation gathering but limited in export flexibility for structured medical writing

  • Mendeley has strong collaborative tools but limited integration with high-level publishing formats

  • EndNote is the gold standard in clinical research environments—offering rigorous control, export accuracy, and journal format plugins

Students exposed to EndNote early can align with the software used by academic mentors, graduate labs, and journal editors. Training materials walk you through real-world use cases.

WHAT IS "MERIT-BASED"?

The certificate from Tier 3 will be signed by the Physician Scientist Program Director only if:

  • The student completes all required submissions

  • Shows academic integrity

  • Demonstrates personal initiative

  • Engages professionally in mentor interactions

  • Produces high-quality written work with potential for inclusion in presentations or publications

If not merited, the certificate remains unsigned and denotes completion only.

Begin with Purpose
A Scholar’s Steps Toward Research and Medical School Preparation

Your first moment awaits.
But before you begin, pause. Breathe.

Let these words guide you:

Your first step is not a form. It is a choice.

You choose what kind of scholar you will become.
You choose the depth of your inquiry.
You choose how fully you will show up—for your work, and for yourself.
You choose how intentionally you will prepare—not only for this project,
but for the path to medical school that lies ahead.

Let your purpose lead your progress.
Let your curiosity guide your questions.
Let your discipline give shape to your discoveries.

Begin with purpose.
Open your Orientation Guide.
Complete your First Reflections.
Step into your Dashboard.
Set your sights on both scholarship and strategy—for your paper, and for your application.

And then—step forward.
Not with uncertainty, but with conviction.

Welcome.
Your research and medical school preparation journey begins now.
